Don’t Lose Your Work – Data Backup Software Support

What would you do if you lost your business’s data? Would you be able to get it back, or would it be lost forever? How would your business continue to run – do you have a data contingency plan? While we don’t like to think that technology can go wrong it often does, and without backing up your data it means that all your work has been lost. But there are ways to backup your data – and we can help.

Business Backup Support Software

Backups play an important role in keeping your business running smoothly if your data is lost. We can regularly run backups for you so you don’t have to, and if your computer breaks then we are able to get your data back on your PC quickly, so you are able to get back to work. We work with backup software support such as ShadowProtect and Backup Exec, which run everyday to make sure your data is always updated, and we regularly check them to make sure they are running without fail. Any issues that do occur are fixed as quickly as possible so you are not without your data.

Personal Data Backup

You are able to back up your own personal files easily as well alongside our backups that we run. Windows comes with software that will assist you with this, such as the backup and recovery tool option. This will back up your user profile so if your personal laptop or computer does fail, you have your precious memories and documents on hand at all times. There are a number of programs that you can use for free that will give you a good amount of space for your files, such as OneDrive or Dropbox if you feel better putting your data in the cloud rather than locally. You get a small amount of free storage space with both OneDrive and Dropbox too, but there are paid plans which you’re able to purchase if you want to. Both of these options store your data in the cloud and you are able to access your data on your phone and while you’re on the go. Also, you can transfer files onto an external hard drive or USB pen to have with you at all times.

3-2-1

Having just one backup is fine, but having multiple is best. Going by the 3-2-1 rule means backing up your data 3 times by having 2 saved locally and one in the cloud or off site data storage. This is the best way to make sure you’re protected, no matter what happens. This may sound a bit over the top and you might think that having 3 copies of the same file or photo is excessive, but if your computer’s hard drive breaks, you’ve lost one copy; and if your external hard drive won’t work you’ve lost your second copy. But, having that third copy saved in the cloud will mean hope is not lost – you still have your data.

Backing up your files is really important for your own personal security and peace of mind. We rely on technology in our everyday lives and you can never predict when your computer is going to break, but we can take steps to help you prepare for this.
