Let’s talk about Flexi Desking!

Flexi Desking is a brand new concept that we at CSE would like to introduce to our clients and followers.

We recently conducted a survey which revealed many businesses and their workers around the Sussex and Surrey area have discovered that a better work-life balance can be achieved with the new technology which they have been introduced to during the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a result of introducing Hot Desking and Remote Working solutions to many of our clients in the Sussex area, many businesses have been allowed the chance to consider working practices in the future and how a better work-life balance can benefit employers and employees alike.

With this in mind, we have explored and combined the advantages and capabilities of both Hot Desking and Remote Working in order to create our new idea which we have decided to name, Flexi Desking.

What is Hot Desking?

Hot desking is simply the use of non-allocated workstations. These work spaces can be used by any employee within a business on any given day.

In some cases, the Covid-19 Pandemic has meant that Hot Desking has become less appealing for businesses due to it’s reliance on users cleaning their workstations after use in order to reduce the spread of the virus. Contrarily, many businesses still use hot desking as a method of spacing employees around the office, providing they have the space.

Some businesses can save money by reducing their rented floor space, or consider moving to smaller premises to save on costs by placing multiple employees at the same workstations.

What is Remote Working?

Remote working is a style which allows business owners or employees to work outside of a traditional office environment.

Remote Working provides flexibility for staff members, ensuring they can continue conducting their work, wherever they might be. This of course would be an essential addition to businesses in the event of self-isolation.

However, face-to-face interaction is generally lost, and there’s no substitute for this during some activities, especially those more collaborative in nature.

What is Flexi Desking?

Flexi Desking merges the advantages of both Hot Desking and Remote Working in order to create a whole new working environment for businesses. Combining the idea of a non-allocated workstations from Hot Desking with Remote Working capabilities; employees and employers alike are able to not only work in and out of the office, but in-fact from anywhere in the world!

This concept creates a better work-life balance for employees, which can improve productivity and growth within the business as a result.

Furthermore, if workers have the ability to come into the office a couple of times a week, rather than working remotely, allowing face-to-face interaction when necessary.

In addition, we at CSE can introduce you to a proprietary business communication platform developed by Microsoft called Teams, which is useful tool during these uncertain times to allow video conferencing, individual messaging, and file sharing when needed.
